STEVE MORSE: THE `RICH LITTLE OF ROCK MUSIC'

BROOKLYN (Wireless Flash) -- Although guitarist Steve Morse has played with Yes, Kansas and the Dixie Dregs, he may soon become best known as the "Rich Little of Rock Guitarists." Morse's new CD, "Major Impacts," features the guitarist playing his original tunes in the styles of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison and Keith Richards. He claims Hendrix was the easiest guitarist to emulate while Harrison was the hardest -- mainly because, in his words, "It's not easy to write a song as good as the Beatles." Morse says he has no idea what impression his living guitar heroes will have when they hear the CD, but he hopes they'll at least appreciate he wrote his own songs instead of copying the originals.
