VETS NEED CUSHIONS FOR CROSS-COUNTRY JEEP TRIP

SEATTLE (Wireless Flash) -- Two World War II veterans who plan to drive across America in a rickety Army jeep need your help: they're looking for seat cushions to protect their rumps. On Wednesday (June 14), Army vets Gene Poynter and Bill Endicott will take off in a vintage jeep for a 3000-mile journey to promote a proposed Army Museum. Although they won't accept cash donations for the museum, the 76-year-old Poynter says they'll gladly accept seat cushions to protect their patriotic fannies from the rough-riding jeep. What's worse, the jeep doesn't have a radio -- which means Gene and Bill will have plenty of time to reminisce about WWII. The two men hope their three-week journey will inspire other former soldiers to tell their war stories to family and friends before it's too late.
