FIBERGLASS COWS REPLACING PLASTIC PINK FLAMINGOS

SPARTA, Wis. (Wireless Flash) -- Fiberglass cows are starting to replace the pink flamingo as the lawn ornament of choice. The fiberglass cows first appeared last year at a public art exhibit in Chicago. Now the fake cows have turned into a cash cow for the company that manufactures them. According to Jim Schauff, owner of Fiberglass Animals, Shapes & Trademarks, most of the cows are being purchased by cities and towns as public art -- but some folks are replacing their pink flamingos and lawn jockeys with the $2300 cows. Schauff says fiberglass pigs, buffalo and giant corn cobs are also growing in popularity as lawn decorations.
