SALE OF WILT CHAMBERLAIN BASKETBALL STILTED BY SCANDAL

SALE OF WILT CHAMBERLAIN BASKETBALL STILTED BY SCANDAL

PHILADELPHIA (Wireless Flash) -- The sale of the basketball that was supposedly used by Wilt Chamberlain during his 100-point game in March, 1962, continues to be stilted by controversy. Last month, it sold at auction for $551,844 -- but now the auction house says it's voiding the sale. The ball's owner, Kerry Ryman, claimed he stole the basketball after the game and kept it hidden for 38 years -- but the authenticity of the ball was questioned after officials revealed the real ball was taken out of the game after the 100th point. Even if Wilt never touched Ryman's ball, the auction house says the ball is still valuable.
