BOARD GAME TEACHES AMISH KIDS FARM SAFETY

HERSHEY, Pa. (Wireless Flash) -- Talk about niche marketing: a new board game is designed to teach Amish kids the dangers of life on the farm. It's called "Amos and Sadie's Farm: A Pathway to Safety," and the game lets Amish kids travel around a fictional farm filled with safety nightmares like dusty grain silos, raging mad bulls and deadly hayloft "hay holes." Kids win the game by correctly answering safety questions such as "True or False: Butter is the best thing to apply to a minor burn." Penn State nursing professor Dr. Kathleen Fisher, who oversaw the development of the game, says the game is necessary to combat the high number of farm-related accidents and deaths among Amish children.
