`GAME OF LOVE' HIT NO. 1 35 YEARS AGO

MANCHESTER, England (Wireless Flash) -- Fans of Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders should be game for this: Monday (Apr. 24) marks the 35th anniversary of the day "Game Of Love" hit No. 1 in the United States. Fontana -- who is now 54 -- says he knew the song would be a hit when he first heard it, but he's amazed it's still played regularly on radio. "Game Of Love" was Fontana's biggest hit but, a few months later, he split with the Mindbenders, who went on to record "Groovy Kind Of Love" without him. He now owns the Mindbenders' name and these days Fontana plays cruise ships and oldies shows with a brand new set of Mindbenders.
