ROD BECK: BASEBALL'S WORST BOD

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Rod Beck is striking out with fitness experts. According to "Muscle & Fitness" magazine, the 235-pound Beck has the flabbiest physique in baseball. Editor Jim Rosenthal says the 31-year-old pitcher deserves the flab honor hands down because Beck is clearly carrying 30 pounds more than he needs to. On the other hand, the body of Beck's teammate, shortstop Nomar Garciaparra, hits a home run with musclemen because he has the most rigorous training program in baseball. Other baseball players whose bodies score points with fitness experts include Brad Fulmer of the Montreal Expos and the Texas Rangers' Gabe Kapler and Royce Clayton.
