`REEL' LOW BUDGET: MAN MAKES FILM FOR $500

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- You think "The Blair Witch Project" was low budget? Now comes word of a Beverly Hills man who has produced a hit flick for $500. Don Abernathy is the writer and director of "Naomi's Web," a straight-to-video movie that he describes as ""The Silence of the Lambs" meets "Psycho."" The movie is currently only available at Hollywood Video rental stores, and a spokesman for the company says the $500 flick is already popular with renters. Abernathy says he spent the bulk of his budget on food for the cast and crew and the rest was spent on insurance and videotapes. Everything else in the film was borrowed -- including the camera - - and the actors worked for free. Now, Abernathy is hoping to land a big-wig studio deal to produce his next flick.
