FORTUNE COOKIES BEING USED TO PROMOTE CENSUS

MIAMI (Wireless Flash) -- A Florida fortune cookie factory is helping out the U.S. Census Bureau by placing a special message inside its fortune cookies. The message reads: "This is your future, don't leave it blank, Census 2000." It turns out the Census Bureau has nothing to do with the messages, which are the brainstorm of David Mui, president of the Fashion Imports Fortune Cookie Company. Mui admits he didn't ask for permission to send out the pro-census fortune cookies, but he believes it's important the government gets a thorough head count of citizens. Meanwhile, a census spokeswoman says she likes the idea and hopes the cookies will inspire folks to fill out their census forms.
