NEBRASKA TOWN TO HOSE ITSELF DOWN

ALLIANCE, Neb. (Wireless Flash) -- Talk about clean living: fire fighters will be hosing down a small Nebraska town next month as part of a spring cleaning effort. Alliance, Nebraska, fire department chief David McCarty says the town gets mighty dusty this time of the year, so his crew will hose down a six-block section on Saturday. The firefighters will use a 3000-gallon tanker and fire hoses equipped with special low-pressure nozzles to spritz the buildings and streets. One downtown business owner looking forward to the "April Shower" is pharmacist Charles Lierk, who says he's never been able to clean the awning in front of his store, so he hopes the spraying will do the trick.
