PLAID ATTITUDE: NATIONAL TARTAN DAY TAKES PLACE TOMORROW

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- A lot of folks may have a "plaid attitude" tomorrow in honor of "National Tartan Day." The holiday is celebrated every year on April 6, the anniversary of the Scottish Declaration of Independence. Scots and non-Scots are invited to celebrate National Tartan Day by wearing a tartan plaid or by playing a few holes of golf while listening to bagpipe music. Others plan on celebrating by drinking scotch whiskey and pigging out on haggis, a dish of organ meats that's cooked inside a sheep's stomach. A Scottish tourism official admits the idea for National Tartan Day was inspired by St. Patrick's Day, but she insists they're not green with envy over that holiday's popularity.
