RESEARCHERS RECORD NESSIE NOISES

LOCH NESS, Scotland (Wireless Flash) -- It may sound all wet but Swedish researchers may have recorded the first Loch Ness monster noises heard in 30 years. Loch Ness researcher Gary Campbell says the scientists used a powerful hydrophone to record two separate "Nessie noises" while the creature swam past the device. One noise sounds like a rifle shot in the distance, while the other sounds like a toilet brush being swirled around a toilet bowl. The noises are amazingly similar to those recorded in a Norwegian lake last summer, and local naturalists believe they belong to an as- yet unidentified creature. Campbell says he plans on setting up a string of hydrophones all around Loch Ness in the hopes of recording Nessie's grunts and groans around the clock.
