NEW USE FOR AM RADIO: UFO DETECTION

NEW KENSINGTON, Penn. (Wireless Flash) -- Who says AM radio is dead? Not E.T.s, who are using it to phone home. According to Pennsylvania-based ufologist Robert Goerman, the AM band is perfect for picking up mysterious radio transmissions which may be alien in origin. Goerman recommends heading to a remote site and setting the dial of your radio on a quiet frequency above 1600 kilohertz. If E.T.s are around, the radio will pick up unusual shrieking signals or Morse Code- like noises. Although he admits the spacey sounds may actually be coming from Earth, he says the only way to know for sure is to analyze the noises, so he's currently creating an online archive of UFO sounds. Goerman discusses his transistor radio detection technique in the latest issue of "Fate" magazine.
