FAMOUS AMOS COOKIES TURNS 25

KAILUA, Hawaii (Wireless Flash) -- Wally Amos, the creator of Famous Amos cookies, has a good reason to be chipper these days: his famous cookies are turning 25 years old. Amos baked his first batch of chocolate chip cookies on March 9, 1975, in a store on L.A.'s Sunset Boulevard. Since then, more than 2 billion Famous Amos cookies have been sold. Amos left his cookie company in 1989 and was later sued for continuing to use his name to sell cookies, but he's now back with Famous Amos and says he has no hard feelings. In fact, he says he'd like to see folks celebrate his anniversary by singing "Happy Birthday" to the cookies displayed in grocery stores.
