RISING MOTH ATTACKS BLAMED ON WARM WINTER

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Wireless Flash) -- If you're a clothes horse, here's some food for thought: your wardrobe is at an increased chance of being eaten up by moths this year. According to Jay Butera -- a moth expert for Cedar Fresh Home Products -- the warmer-than-normal winter weather means moths that normally hibernate in winter are continuing business as usual. It's estimated that more than 75 percent of Americans do nothing to protect their outfits from hungry moths, which can turn an angora sweater into a piece of swiss cheese. Butera says you can minimize moth problems by storing clothing in cedarwood boxes because moths find the smell of cedarwood repulsive. You can also toss your clothes into the freezer overnight which effectively kills moth larvae.
