GROUP UPSET OVER TEEN TRAIN-TRACK MODELS

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Wireless Flash) -- A J.C. Penney's fashion layout which features teens modeling clothes while standing on train tracks has a Virginia group steaming mad. Operation Lifesaver -- which warns kids about the dangers of being hit by a train -- fears the photos in Penney's new teen catalog will make kids think playing on train tracks is "cool." A spokeswoman claims that even though the catalog states that the railroad site is abandoned, the tracks are obviously "too well maintained" to be permanently out of service. The group now wants J.C. Penney to pull the catalogs from its stores. Meanwhile, a J.C. Penney spokeswoman says the store probably won't cancel the catalogs because the train tracks are merely a backdrop and not intended to promote reckless behavior.
