TOILET SEAT ARTIST IS KING OF COMMODE CREATIONS

ALAMO HEIGHTS, Texas (Wireless Flash) -- A retired plumber in Texas has a hobby that puts the "loo" back in loony -- he creates artwork out of old toilet seat lids. 78-year-old Barney Smith spends most of his days painting and gluing trinkets to the lids, which he claims make great canvases. More than 500 of the commode creations hang in his garage, which he has turned into a free "Toilet Seat Art Museum." One of the lids features a piece of the Berlin Wall glued to it, while another contains a collection of swizzle sticks from around the world. One toilet lid sports a hive of dead yellow jackets with the warning "Do Not Disturb." Smith says he'd rather work on his toilet lid paintings than do anything else -- including sleeping and eating.
