UPDATE: FALCO MUSICAL TO DEBUT IN SEPTEMBER

BERLIN, Germany (Wireless Flash) -- Saturday (Feb. 19) would have been the 43rd birthday of the Austrian-born 1980s-era rocker Falco. Although he died in an car accident two years ago, his music will live on in the form of a stage musical scheduled to open next September in Germany. The musical is titled "Falco Meets Amadeus" and will feature 20 Falco ditties including "Vienna Calling," "Der Kommissar" and, of course, the 1986 smash "Rock Me Amadeus." The plot concerns a meeting between Falco and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and playwright Burkhard Driest describes the extravaganza as "a musical about the glory and the misery in the struggle for immortality." A theater troupe in Falco's hometown of Vienna is also working on a musical tentatively titled "Cyber-Falco."
