GROUP DECLARES CHEVY SUBURBAN 2000'S `MEANEST' CAR

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash) -- If you drive a Chevrolet Suburban, you won't want to hear this: an energy conservation group claims the Suburban is 2000's biggest gas guzzler. The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy has declared the big and burly SUV the "Meanest Vehicle for the Environment" based on its gas guzzling engine -- which only gets 11 miles per gallon of fuel. Other road warriors tough on the environment include the Dodge Ram 2500, the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Land Rover Range Rover. At the other end of the scale, the group has declared General Motors electric car, the EV1, as 2000's "Greenest Vehicle." The "meanest" and "greenest" cars are included in the new book "ACEEE's Green Book: The Environmental Guide to Cars and Trucks" (ACEEE Publications).
