`SOPRANOS' SPIKING PASTA CONSUMPTION?

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- It looks like viewers addicted to HBO's mob drama "The Sopranos" are developing some unusual side effects. According to Diane Jakacki, overseer of the "Sopranos" web page at HBO.com, the most common "Sopranos effect" is an increased consumption of pasta and red wine and the use of mafioso phrases like "whacked." Some fans are having even more unusual reactions, such as the woman who claims she's suffering "sympathy back pain" for a "Sopranos" character who threw his back out last season. Another viewer claims he's had nightmares about certain kitchen tools thanks to some of the more violent scenes in the show. And then there's the woman who fantasizes continuously about "Sopranos" star James Gandolfini -- including recurring dreams about wearing his underwear on her head.
