KILLER POKEMON TOYS RISE IN VALUE

DALLAS (Wireless Flash) -- The health scare over Burger King's Pokemon toys may be a boon to collectors of the trinkets. The fast food chain recently recalled 25 million "Pokemon Balls" after two toddlers suffocated on them -- but the recall and destruction of the toys may make them a rare commodity. Doug Kale, editor of "Beckett Pokemon Collector," says the toys are currently selling for $3 to $5, but he predicts the scandal will spike the price among collectors. He thinks some enterprising Pokemon collectors may try to take the "chokemons" off the hands of frightened parents and build up a valuable collection in the process. However, Leonard Tannenbaum, who runs the Pokemon.com auction website, thinks the price increase will only be a temporary blip.
