`JEFFERSONS' TURNS 25 (JAN. 18)

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- "The Jeffersons" sitcom is moving on up -- in years that is. The show will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Tuesday (Jan. 18). On January 18, 1975, "The Jeffersons" officially premiered on CBS. However, the whole Jefferson gang had previously appeared on "All In The Family" as Archie Bunker's neighbors. Other Jeffersons trivia.... -- Although actors Mike Evans and Damon Evans both played Lionel on the series at separate times, they aren't related in real life. -- Roxie Roker, the late actress who played Mrs. Willis, is musician Lenny Kravitz's mother. -- And, finally, series star Sherman Hemsley is also a jazz composer who recently wrote a musical with Yes lead singer Jon Anderson about the spiritual qualities of the number "7." Nick At Nite will be celebrating the 25th anniversary Tuesday night with a "Jeffersons" mini-marathon.
