MAN TO ATTEMPT 525-FOOT DIVE ON ONE BREATH

COZUMEL, Mex. (Wireless Flash) -- A Miami filmmaker hopes to prove he has the strongest lungs in the world by diving 525 feet underwater on a single breath. 37-year-old Francisco "Pipin" Ferreras will attempt the "lungbreaking" stunt this Sunday (Jan. 16) in the hopes of beating the current single-breath diving record of 492 feet. At 9 in the morning, Ferreras will take his last breath before descending 525 feet on a weighted sled. When he reaches the record depth, he will inflate an air bag that will rocket him back to the surface. If all goes well, Ferreras expects to spend a total of only 3 minutes underwater. His 25-year-old wife, Audrey, will also attempt to set a female record by diving 389 feet on a single breath.
