W.C. FIELDS AND GRANDSON CO-WRITE BUSINESS BOOK

APTOS, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- W.C. Fields may have been dead since 1946 but he's just finished writing a book with the help of his grandson. Ron Fields, the comedian's 50-year-old grandson, says W.C. was a funnyman who was also serious about money, leaving an estate worth nearly $1 million when he died. Now, Fields has compiled his grandfather's business wisdom into a new book, "Never Give A Sucker An Even Break: W.C. Fields On Business" (Prentice Hall). Some of Fields' business tips include.... -- "Never drink anything stronger than gin before breakfast." -- "You can fool half the people all the time and that's enough to make a good living." -- And this one: "If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it."
