PETA PUTS POX ON `MASTERPIECES IN CHICKEN'

NORFOLK, Va. (Wireless Flash) -- The feathers are flying over an upcoming art exhibit that will feature children's drawings of breaded chicken nuggets. People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals -- aka PETA -- is ruffled by the so-called "Masterpieces in Chicken" event, which is sponsored by the Perdue Farms chicken corporation. PETA claims the art show is a "shameless" attempt to exploit both animals and children and is trying to get the exhibit's host, actor Danny Glover, to pull out of the breaded chicken nugget event. A PETA spokesman says the group fears Glover's celebrity status could influence more kids into eating the nuggets, resulting in the death and cruel treatment of thousands of chickens. Representatives for Perdue weren't available for comment.
