WITCHY WINTER SOLSTICE RITUALS TO GO FULL SWING TONIGHT (DEC. 22)

HINTON, W. Va. (Wireless Flash) -- You might want to sit down for a spell tonight (Dec. 22) in honor of the Winter Solstice, a traditional winter holiday for witches. This year's solstice also coincides with a well-hyped full moon, which means the witchy rituals associated with the holiday are going to be a little different. Self-proclaimed witch Jo Frost of Hinton, West Virginia, says many witches believe the full moon will help them contact dead relatives -- something witches only do on Halloween in a typical year. As a result, many witches plan on altering their usual ceremonies tonight to maximize the communication with the dead. Frost says the witches will focus on freeing the spirits of people who are trapped in limbo -- an effort she compares to Amnesty International Day, when folks try to free political prisoners.
