PREDICTABLY, '99 PREDICTIONS WERE INACCURATE

AMHERST, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- The psychics in the supermarket tabloids must have cracks in their crystal balls if their 1999 predictions are any indication. "Skeptical Inquirer" magazine has just released a list of predictions made last December by psychics hired by several well- known tabloids, none of which came true. Some of the predictions that didn't pan out include the claim that marijuana would replace petroleum as America's chief source of energy; "The Roseanne Show" would do a week of shows at a nudist colony and Wynonna Judd would become a female wrestler. Editors also point out not one psychic predicted events such as the earthquake in Turkey or the JFK, Jr. plane crash. "Skeptical Inquirer" spokesman Gene Emery says the lack of accuracy was predictable since no psychic has ever been able to predict the future under scientific conditions.
