`SPROCKETS' DANCING WAVE OF THE FUTURE?

KENTFIELD, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- In the future, dance floors will be packed with folks mimicking Mike Myers' "Sprockets" character on "Saturday Night Live." That's the prediction of California-based dance historian Carol Teten, who says the next big dance trend will be androgenous, jerky moves similar to Myers' narcissistic, body- flailing steps. Teten says there's always a big dance rebellion about 10 years into every century, so the bizarre dance style will probably emerge by 2010. She also predicts people will begin dancing by themselves in front of their computers using technology that links them with other "cyberdancers." Teten is the producer of a new video called "Dances Of The Ragtime Era: 1910-1920."
