BABY DOCTORS CAUSING LABOR PAINS?

FORESTVILLE, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Now here's a painful thought: obstetricians may be causing the bulk of pregnant womens' labor pains. That's according to osteopath Rayner Garner, who claims childbirth pains aren't natural and can be reduced by simply keeping the mother in a darkened room away from doctors and other hospital staff. Garner claims female mammals in labor instinctively stop giving birth when they sense a stranger or potential predator in the room -- and this "fight or flight" reaction is what causes pain. He contends giving birth in a crowded, brightly-lit room surrounded by strange doctors and technicians is more likely to cause pain than leaving the woman alone in a dark room with someone she's comfortable with -- such as a midwife or her partner. In fact, he claims giving childbirth in this manner can actually be pleasurable thanks to endorphins that are released during the birth.
