ANTHROPOLOGIST WANTS `PLAYBOY' AND BEER CANS IN TIME CAPSULES

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Wireless Flash) -- Thinking of celebrating the end of the century by making a time capsule? Here's a tip: The real items of interest 2000 years from now will be items like beer cans, "Playboy" magazines and Twinkies. That's according to Brown University anthropologist Dr. Dwight Heath, who says the best way to help future generations understand the '90s is by burying time capsules filled with everyday items such as beer, snack foods and even old check receipts. He says Hawaiian shirts, blue jeans and tuxedos will also help future historians understand these crazy times, and even old copies of "Playboy" and "Playgirl" will provide firsthand evidence as to what humans looked like in the 1990s. Heath says anthropologists won't get much use from electronic items like CD players, VCRs or computers -- unless they're battery-powered.
