`BUFFY' SHOW CREATING `SLAYER SLANG'

REDDING, Penn. (Wireless Flash) -- Here's a scary thought: an English professor thinks "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" may be changing the way English is spoken. Professor Michael Adams of Albright College in Redding, Pennsylvania, claims Buffy catch phrases such as "Love makes you do the wacky," are starting to catch on even with people who've never seen the show. Other "slayer slang" that's becoming part of mainstream conversations include... -- "Drastic distraction reduction," which means cutting down on activities that keep you from the things you'd rather do. -- "Twelve-steppy." Buffy-talk for folks addicted to therapeutic regimens. -- "Keyser Sozed," which means you've been tricked. Amazingly, Professor Adams thinks Buffy might have a bigger influence on 21st century English than William Shakespeare.
