Y2K FEARS BOOST SALES OF JAPANESE NOODLES

GREELEY, Colo. (Wireless Flash) -- Talk about using your noodle: The Y2K crisis is making some "Y2-cash" for the publishers of a book called "101 Ways to Make Ramen Noodles" (C&G Publishing). It seems sales for the 6-year-old book have skyrocketed in the past few months thanks to frantic folks who are stockpiling containers of cheap ramen noodles in anticipation of a Y2K food shortage. Publisher Cyndi Duncan claims orders have gone from 100 books a month to 500 and it's all because of Y2K survivalists looking for creative ways to prepare the Japanese noodles. Duncan says one customer told her he's already socked away 60 pounds of ramen for his family, and hopes the book's recipes - - which include Cheesy Tuna Ramen, Ramen Fajitas, and Double Chocolate Ramen Pie -- will help him fight off the monotony of eating the stuff.
