BOOK STORE MANAGER BECOMES ULTIMATE TV FAN

DETROIT (Wireless Flash) -- A book store manager in Detroit is living proof it pays to spend hours in front of the TV. 31-year-old Malcolm Bonden won the title of "Ultimate TV Fan" after participating in a nationwide contest sponsored by the TV Land cable network. Bonden's prizes for being declared America's ultimate couch potato include seven television sets -- one for each room in his house -- a year's subscription to "TV Guide," and free cable for one year. TV Land is also letting him program 60 minutes of weekly programming for the next year. Bonden plans to use the time to revive interest in once- popular shows like "Maverick" and "Sgt. Bilko," as well as his own obscure favorites including the Wayne Rogers series, "City Of Angels," and the Charles S. Dutton sitcom, "Roc."
