MINISTER: `THOU SHALT NOT PASS GAS'

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) -- A San Francisco minister hopes to bring peace to the world by adding an 11th Commandment: "Hold thy wind." Dr. Donald McCullough, president of the San Francisco Theological Seminary, says he's raising a stink about flatulence because he thinks folks today are too free with their bodily functions. McCullough, author of "Say Please, Say Thank You: The Respect We Owe One Another" (Perigee) says burping, farting, spitting and other gross eruptions not only spread germs, they're just plain rude. He feels it's a spiritual duty for people to refrain from "letting one fly" in polite company because the "smells and sewage" of the body can make others miserable. McCullough says his beliefs about bodily functions aren't designed to restrict you in a puritanical manner -- they're about maximizing the pleasure experienced by others.
