`3RD ROCK' BOYCOTT ALIENATES TV VIEWERS

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- A boycott of "3rd Rock From The Sun" is causing the sitcom's ratings to crumble -- at least if you believe the Los Angeles man behind the boycott. Last month, writer and publisher Steve Stern encouraged a boycott of the NBC show because he feels the show unfairly depicts aliens as "galactic goofballs." Stern claims the boycott is why the show has failed to rocket to the Top 20 this season. This week the show ranked 28 in the Nielsen Ratings. The boycott organizer says he will continue the boycott until "3rd Rock" producers add at least one alien character who is "normal and intelligent" to the cast. A "3rd Rock" spokesperson had no comment on whether Stern's boycott is the reason behind the ratings downturn.
