ELVIS: EVEN WEIRDER THAN YOU THOUGHT

ELVIS: EVEN WEIRDER THAN YOU THOUGHT

NASHVILLE (Wireless Flash) -- It looks like Elvis' food fetishes went far beyond fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. According to the new book "On the Throne With the King: The Ultimate Bathroom Elvis Trivia Book" (Dowling Press), Elvis once sprinkled grape Kool-Aid on the floorboard of a car because he thought it would give it a new car smell. Elvis researcher Chuck Oliver also discovered that Elvis had such an extreme fear of touching anyone else's eating utensils, that he carried around a knife and fork in his back pocket. Another Presley quirk involved Elvis and his pet chimpanzee. He would dress the chimp in a suit and then take him along on fancy dinners. But the chimp -- who had the nasty habit of raiding Graceland's liquor cabinets -- lost his dining privileges after he started peering up women's skirts. Finally, Oliver says Elvis was so fond of firearms that he once filled a swimming pool with lightbulbs and blasted every bulb.
