PET ROCK 2000? TEENS INVENT Y2K GOOD LUCK CHARM

WOODMERE, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- Two teenagers in Woodmere, New York, have created what they hope will become the Pet Rock of 2000. The doo-dad is a shiny black rock about two inches in diameter upon which a "googly eye" has been glued. The rock is supposed to "keep an eye out" for good fortune. Lucky charm inventors Evan Roberts and Ali Martone call the rock a "Lenium" and claim it's much luckier than a rabbits foot which, as Evan points out, "wasn't so lucky for the rabbit." The two teenagers plan on selling for the rocks for $5 apiece. By the way, 16-year-old Evan claims he's taking credit for the New York Mets' current success in the pennant race because the team really took off only after he glued the first plastic eyeball onto his prototype rock.
