`3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN' VICTIM OF E.T. BOYCOTT

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- A Los Angeles man is organizing a boycott of the TV series "3rd Rock From The Sun" because it presents extraterrestrials as "galactic goofballs." Writer and publisher Steve Stern -- who claims he can channel messages from an alien named "Zen" -- is asking people to boycott "3rd Rock" until the show's producers add at least one alien character that is a positive role model. Stern fears that if aliens announce their presence on Earth, humans whose impressions of E.T.s are based on "3rd Rock" will expect the real aliens to be as nutty as the characters on the show. The series will make its season premiere on Tuesday (Sept. 21), and Stern is asking pro-alien supporters to contact NBC and its local affiliates to complain. Meanwhile, executives at the show claim the series portrays a more realistic view of aliens than Stern realizes. According to "3rd Rock From The Sun" creators Bonnie and Terry Turner, "Who does [Stern] think is doing the show? Humans?"
