SKIN FLICK KING RUSS MEYER GETS ART HOUSE TRIBUTE

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash) -- Skin flick king Russ Meyer is getting a thumbs-up from the snooty art-film crowd. The American Cinematheque in Hollywood is honoring the breast-obsessed director with a film retrospective titled "Faster Pussycat: The Sex Crazed Cinema of Russ Meyer." It comes as a shock to the 77-year old Meyer, who says he never thought his nudie flicks would ever play outside of adult movie parlors. Meyer says back in the 1960s when he started making soft- core films like "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" and the Roger Ebert-scripted "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls," he was just trying to satisfy men who liked to look at big-bosomed women. Although he admits to having a huge fascination with buxom ladies, he says Roger Ebert isn't any different. According to Meyer: "Ebert is more obsessed with breasts than I could ever hope to be."
