MIKE WALLACE TICKED OFF AT NEW AL PACINO MOVIE

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- "60 Minutes" anchor Mike Wallace is getting pretty cranky in his old age. "TV Guide" is reporting that the 81-year-old journalist is mad as hell over "The Insider," an upcoming Al Pacino film inspired by a "60 Minutes" story concerning the tobacco industry. Wallace says he's miffed because the character in the film based on him -- portrayed by Christopher Plummer -- comes across as a "...soulless and cowardly laggard who has lost his moral compass." Mike was so angry after reading an early draft of the script that he fired off a cranky letter to the film's director, "Miami Vice" creator Michael Mann -- who made no changes in the character. "The Insider" is scheduled to open in November.
