RECORDING OF `ELVIS HAS JUST LEFT THE BUILDING': $50,000

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Wireless Flash) -- Elvis Presley fans, listen up: A tape recording containing the very first utterance of the phrase, "Elvis has just left the building" will go on the auction block next month. The tape is a reel-to-reel recording of a 1956 radio program heard over Shreveport, Louisiana, station KWKH. The 10-minute snippet features Elvis playing live on the "Louisiana Hayride" radio show. After two songs, you hear the audience go crazy with applause and cheers. Then, the show's announcer, Horace Logan, tries to calm the screaming crowd by telling them the now immortal words: "Elvis has just left the building." A spokesperson for Collector's Universe, which is sponsoring the October 30th auction, says the rare recording has an estimated value of at least $50,000.
