SKYDIVERS HOPE TO SET RECORD WITH 123-WOMAN JUMP

PERRIS VALLEY, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- A group of women are taking a real fall for their art -- from 16,500 feet in the air to be exact. This weekend, more than 123 female skydivers plan to set a new world record for the most women to dive out of a plane together. The women hope to beat a previous record of 100 jumpers by launching at least 123 ladies out of seven planes at the same time. To complicate matters, the divers must make an aerial formation resembling a ribbon by linking hands as they hurtle toward the Earth. The skydiving stunt is being done to raise money for breast cancer research, and the flying ladies hope to set the world record by Friday or Saturday (Sept. 3-4) in Perris Valley, California.
