RAUNCHY NET NAMES BRING IN BIG BUCKS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Here's the latest get-rich-quick scheme courtesy of the internet: Just create and register a raunchy website address that insults a corporation -- something like "nikesucks.com." Raunchy domain name registrations are making big bucks for some people according to a New York-based internet registry specialist who only wants to be identified as "Emily." Emily says some entrepreneurs are registering the insulting addresses in the hopes that embarrassed companies will buy them back at inflated prices to keep them from being used. She's heard of one corporation that paid $150,000 for a web address that demeaned and insulted the corporate name. But some companies are fighting back. Emily says a growing number of corporate clients are registering every possible insulting name to keep them from falling into the wrong hands.
