RAILWAY KILLER WON'T DAMPEN HOBO CONVENTION

BRITT, Iowa (Wireless Flash) -- The murder spree of notorious "Railway Killer" Rafael Resendez-Ramirez has given new life to the hobo movement. According to Todd Waters of the Hobo Council -- a coalition of American hobos -- the recent manhunt for Ramirez had a positive effect on the hobo community because it focused media attention on hobos for the first time in years. Before the manhunt, Waters says many Americans thought hobos were as extinct as the dodo or confused them for homeless people -- but it turns out many hobos actually helped the cops in the search for Ramirez. As a result, Waters expects a record turnout to the National Hobo Convention which starts Thursday (Aug. 12) in Britt, Iowa.
