GEORGIA MAN INVENTS MALE TEDDY

MARIETTA, Ga. (Wireless Flash) -- A man in Marietta, Georgia, hopes to change the way men feel about underwear with a garment he calls the "Male Teddy." Inventor Bobby Jefferson has created a drapey, skirt-like garment that wraps around the waist or chest and attaches in the back with velcro. Unlike a female teddy, which are like corsets, Jefferson's Male Teddy is loose and looks like a sarong worn by a Polynesian knife thrower. Jefferson -- whose daytime job is checking automobile smog emissions -- says he figured that if women can lie around the house in sexy, slinky outfits, men can too. He says he created the Male Teddy one evening as he was trying to look sexy for his wife, but only had a short time to get ready. When she first saw him in the skirt-like Male Teddy, Jefferson claims she started hugging him like he was a teddy bear -- and that's how the product got its name. The Male Teddy will be on the market in the fall and the basic cotton version will sell for about $5, more if it's made out of silk.
