MEET THE AARON SPELLING OF TEEN TV

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash) -- TV producer Peter Engel is known in Hollywood as "The Aaron Spelling of teen TV shows" -- but he admits he almost missed his gravy train. Engel -- who produces "Saved By the Bell" -- admits he thought the show was a bad idea at first, but it's now shown in 85 countries around the world. The original "Saved By the Bell" also started the careers of Scott Wolf, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Tori Spelling. Although Engel still keeps in touch with the original cast members, he says he hasn't always approved of their new acting jobs. Case in point: he never would have advised Elizabeth Berkley to star in the 1995 stripper stinker "Showgirls." By the way, this fall marks the 10th anniversary of "Saved By the Bell's" TV debut.
