TRAILER TRASH: 77 PERCENT OF MOBILE HOMES DEFECTIVE

WASHINGTON (Wireless Flash) -- A new survey on the condition of mobile homes is giving new meaning to the term "trailer trash." According to the American Association of Retired Persons, 77 percent of mobile home owners have had major problems with their manufactured home. 32 percent complain of poor plumbing, 29 percent experienced a leaky roof and 25 percent suffer from drippy doors or windows. Even worse, 61 percent of mobile home owners say the problems started the very first year they owned the unit. All in all, the average mobile home owner has shelled out $1140 to fix defects -- on top of the price they've already paid for the rig.
