BUDDY EBSEN'S LATEST EFFORT: JED CLAMPETT PAINTINGS

TRENTON, N.J. (Wireless Flash) -- "Come listen to a story 'bout a painter named Jed" -- aka Buddy Ebsen of "Beverly Hillbillies" fame. Entertainment journalist Baird Jones reports the 91-year-old actor has just completed a series of paintings featuring his hillbilly alter ego, Jed Clampett. The folksy, brightly-colored paintings have a Norman Rockwell flavor to them, and one of them features a scene of Jed feeding a bowl of milk to several kittens. Ebsen is still working on an unfinished piece called "The Chow Line" which depicts Jed milking a cow and squirting the milk into the mouths of waiting cats. The paintings are already getting rave reviews from Ebsen's former co-stars, including Max Baer Jr. -- aka Jethro Bodine -- who says he hopes to hang a few of the Jed Clampett paintings in the "Beverly Hillbillies" casino he's now building in Reno.
