`DEAD SKUNK' SINGER RAISES STINK ABOUT Y2K

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Remember the 1972 novelty hit "Dead Skunk"? Well, the man who sang the hit is now raising a stink about the dreaded Y2K virus. Loudon Wainwright III hopes his new satirical single, "Y2K," will point out some of the sillier potential dangers of the upcoming millennium. Wainwright figures that if all the computers really do fail, one of the worst things may be that folks who use laptop computers to play Solitaire will be forced to use a real deck of cards. Y2K isn't the only thing he's making fun of these days. His latest album, "Social Studies," satirizes everyone from Tonya Harding to O.J. Simpson. "Social Studies" will be released tomorrow (July 13).
