ANNIVERSARY OF VERSACE'S DEATH: GAY HUSTLERS NOT AFFECTED

WARREN, N.J. (Wireless Flash) -- This Thursday (July 15) marks the two-year anniversary of the day fashion designer Gianni Versace was murdered outside his Miami home, allegedly by Andrew Cunanan, who was labeled a gay hustler by the media. The Cunanan murder spree made gay prostitution front page news, but a New Jersey gay hustler in his 20s claims the event has had no impact on his business. Aaron Lawrence -- author of the new book, "Suburban Hustler" (Lawrence Publishing) -- says Cunanan wasn't a professional hustler in the first place, so most clients weren't scared off by the string of murders. He admits that even though he earns $300 an hour for his services, it's not always easy -- like the time one customer pointed a gun at him and demanded that he slip into a pair of frilly panties. On the whole, Lawrence says he enjoys being a professional hustler so much, that if he ever has a son who is gay, he would recommend hustling as a good part-time job.
